How are you sharing love to others in this season? As Christmas has come and gone, and we are almost entering a new year, let's continue to share the love of Christ with another.
You may feel overwhelmed with your busy schedule, job, health, school, or anything else that may keep you from helping someone. Maybe your life is hard right now because of the struggles and pain you are experiencing.
I want to encourage you today to share love with others through small things. It doesn't have to be buying a gift or even leaving your home. You can share love and kindness through something as simple as writing a letter or reaching out to a close friend.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Mother Teresa.
"Do small things with great love."
Doing something simple can bring joy to another. Just as my friend Paisley was writing last week, we can continue to rejoice and have joy through this season. God loves us no matter our circumstance of suffering.
In the gospel of John, we see that Jesus teaches the disciples to love one another.
In John 13:34, it's beautifully written that,
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
This is something we can continue doing today. Christ showed love to others while on earth. He was there for the hurting and sick. He healed the blind, deaf, and those in pain. He spoke of God's love, and spent time with His disciples. Most of all, Jesus died on the cross to save us. Through kindness, we can show the love of Christ to others.
As we enter in a new year, reach out to those that are hurting. Be there for a friend or family member. Help carry the groceries for someone who is elderly. Call that friend that you continue to think of. Take time to listen to the young teenager or adult that is struggling.
Until you take the moments to share love with others, you may never know how that could change someone's life. I have personally been encouraged through small acts of kindness that a family member, friend, or stranger has done for me. I will always be grateful.
My friend, let's continue to do small things for another.
"Let all that you do be done in love."
1 Corinthians 16:14
